Oshmyany Local History Museum n.a. F. K. Bogushevich

The museum was founded on 27 September 1952. In 1953, the museum was granted the name of the Belarusian poet Frantishak Bogushevich. The museum keeps F.Bogushevich's personal things, objects of archeology and numismatics, object of daily life, items of folk masters, documents and photos of the late 19th - 20th centuries. In 2000, the museum was supplied with a building in the city centre. After the reconstruction, there was a solemn opening on 20 November 2009. On 1 January 2012, the museum funds included 21,471 items (the main fund — 10,374, the research additional one — 11,097 items). The most distinctive objects in the museum are F. Bogushevich's memorial things and documents, the treasures of the coins of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania (the 14th — 17th centuries). In 2010, the museum was granted 431 paintings by N. I. Kornilov, the President of the International Association "Art of the World's Nations". On the basis of this collection, there is a permanent art gallery. The museum provides thematic excursions, lectures and museum classes, local history conferences. The museum annually takes part in the international action "Museum Night".
